I studied at Inje University from March 15 to 20, 2015. My fellow students and I actively studied and discussed edema, the theme of our 4 day problem based learning (PBL) class. I participated in the practice of urinary catheterization, and got to see the hospital. After school, Inje University's students hung out with me. Thanks to their support and thoughtfulness, I could carry through the PBL class and enjoy the whole program.
The PBL class was extremely impressive. Students had little clinical knowledge about edema before the session. Therefore, it was easy for us to notice "what we didn't know" and "what we should learn" through these PBL sessions, so we were able to concentrate more on the lectures afterwards. I think it is a very good learning approach to help medical students acquire the ability to actively solve problems. I was not good at English, and it was the first time for me to experience a PBL program. However, students in the same group kindly waited for my words and encouraged me to share my opinions, and they made my study experience meaningful and beneficial. I really appreciate the warm hospitality and kindness of Prof. Dae-Hyun Seog, students of Inje University, and organizers of this program. Thanks to this program, I became more interested in South Korea and people there, and was more motivated to learn medicine to become a medical doctor who can think and work for the patients in the future.

First, I would like to thank all the Inje University staffs and professors who gave us a warm welcome and time. Especially thanks to professor Seog, who arranged and took care of everything while we were staying in Korea. I want to say thank you to all our friends in Inje, too. I could have talked about many things with them. When I couldn't follow the words, they explained very kindly so there is little problem to communicate with them. Also, my group members were so kind that they guided a lot in PBL class as well. I think studying in the Inje University was very good experience to me, and I won't forget the time I had spent in the Inje University.

I joined PBL program in Inje University from March 15th to 21st. As it was a first time to study abroad, I was so worried about my communication ability. However, all Korean students are very kind and welcomed us, so we spent great time! We were able to make a lot of memories such as eating good Korean foods, shopping, sightseeing and so on. Thank you for everything and we are looking forward to see our Korean friends soon again!

It is priceless for me that I spent the one week with Inje university students. PBL in English was so difficult that I could not understand everything. However, my teammates helped me to understand the detail of the discussion and encouraged us to say our opinions. Thus I had no stress in PBL. It is also a very good memory that I did some sightseeing and had some parties with Inje university students. I was able to make good friends in Busan. This study trip was really meaningful thanks to professors and students. I deeply appreciate their hospitality.

I think Inje university students are very kind and smart. At the PBL discussion, they helped me speak. I spoke only a few words because I didn't know medical terms at all, but they guessed what I wanted to say and added words for clearer understanding.

This is the first time for me to participate in PBL. The standardized patient was worried about his swelling. All we discussed about why the swelling happened, how should we examine, and how should we do. In the discussion, students of Inje University were so kind. So we Japanese enjoyed studying PBL.
At the last of PBL, we studied also humanity and social medicine. We discussed about what doctors should do or say for elderly person in need of hemodialysis. This issue is so difficult and is often discussed also in Japan. We could think and discuss seriously altogether. I didn't imagine that we did so. This discussion will be very precious experience in my life.
